Webvisions Crosses 12,000 Customer Mark with Leading Global Brands Amongst Customer List

SINGAPORE, 8 June 2001 - Webvisions, the leading hosting provider in Asia, today announced that it has crossed the 12 000th customer mark. The Company has also seen strong brand names like Ascendas, DaimlerChrysler South East Asia Pte Ltd, Fuji Xerox Singapore Pte Ltd, Nestle, Sonymusic, com and Wincor-Nixdorf signing up for its services over the last few months.

"We are seeing strong growth in the B2B services segment and corporate hosting services are on the rise. Given our momentum, we expect to hit 20,000 customers by the end of this year," remarked Roger Lim, CEO of Webvisions. "We're pleased to see the high level of confidence our customers have in us, it is a calear reflection of our winning business strategy that incorporates flexibility and scalability into our suite of premium services."

According to a survey on e-commerce 2000 conducted by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and Department of Statistics (DOS), revenue figures for e-commerce in Singapore have grown over the past two years. B2B (Business to Business) e-commerce sales values grew from S$40 billion (US$22 billion) in 1999 to an estimated S$92 billion (US$50.7 billion) in year 2000. This figure is projected to reach S$109 billion (US$60 billion) in 2001.

Webvisions' track record is characterised by strong leadership of the SME hosting market. Lim attributes this growth to the scalability and diversity of its service offerings, which significantly reduce capital expenditure and total cost of ownership. "In today's business field, the constant shift of needs indicates how important flexibility is for any company wanting to garner more mindshare. Businesses have to structure variable components into their product suites to be more competitive. By structuring an easily adaptable system, we grow with our customers," he added.

"Our dedicated server offerings obliterate problems with depreciation and long-term contract anxieties, and these are very real issues to SMEs."

Webvisions recently announced its 30-Days' termination policy on dedicated servers, which offers all Webvisions' customers greater contractual flexibility than the usual 12-month or 18-month contracts offered on the market today. The latter binds customers, and also make it difficult for them to upgrade as their businesses grow.
