SSH Clients
Webvisions STRONGLY encourages the use of SSH to access your server via the
command line. SSH is more secure than telnet and importantly, it provides an
encrypted connection while you are accessing your server.
Putty is a free
SSH client that runs under windows. You can download putty by clicking on this link:
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/latest/putty.exe
Putty requires no installation, and can be run once downloaded. You can read
the documentation by clicking on this link:
http://www.tartarus.org/~owen/putty-docs/
You should be able to use the same information you used for your telnet
client to configure putty - you'll need the hostname or IP address of your
server, a username, and a password.
There are other SSH clients available at the following URLs if you prefer
something other than Putty or want to investigate your options:

To learn about how to retrieve email from your Webvisions virtual server, please read our page on Configuring Your POP Email Account at our Web Resources Center.
- Eudora Light (Macintosh, Windows, Newton)
- Popular, feature-rich, easy to use, and freeware version of the Eudora Pro Email Client. Download the
3.1.3 version for Macintosh 68K and PPC, or visit the Eudora Light page for 3.05 for Windows and 1.1 for Newton.
- Pegasus Mail (David Harris)
- Freeware, full featured email client. It can handle multiple email accounts (Eudoro Lite version can only handle one) and it has built in encryption facility so your email cannot be read unless password is known....a very nice feature. Pegasus

such as a nice mail system converter utility. A complete list of Pegasus plug-ins may be found at this site.
