I have 25 FTP Accounts assigned to my Webvisions virtual server. How can I create separate logins and passwords for my 25 users?

NOTE: Most standard Webvisions packages come with 2 FTP accounts. The primary FTP login and password information is always provided in your server configuration letter. Users may use WebFTP in Web.Manager to configure the second password and login for their second FTP account. The FTP password and login can be configured to work at sub-directory and primary directory levels.

Users can also purchase additional FTP accounts (the current prices for FTP accounts can be found at this price chart). Once additional FTP accounts are assigned to you, you may use Web.Manager to designate the login and password for this FTP account.

  • Please Note: You will only be able to create new FTP account information if your FTP quota has been set to the correct number of FTP accounts.

  • Launch Web.Manager, Login to Web.Manager and click on "FTP Accounts Management" (You can learn more about Web.Manager here)

  • Click on "Create Account".

You will be brought to a page listing the following fields to be filled in : [ Login name: ] [ Password: ] [ Retype password: ] [ Full Name: ] [ Homedir: ]

You may enter anything you want in field [ Full Name: ], such as "Directory for User 1".

At the field [ Homedir: ], enter the directory you are setting the FTP login and password for. E.g. if you are setting an individual FTP password and login name for a user to FTP files for the URL "http://www.alaskanpineapples.com/tropicalbaskets", enter "tropicalbaskets" in the empty field.

Click on "Create Accounts" once you are done. You will be brought back to the previous screen.

  • You can now use Web.Manager to delete or modify your existing FTP accounts.

  • Restart your FTP server before logging out.
